Kapurthala (Media Bureau) Afzal Sheikh, a corona positive patient belonging to Tablighi class who has been admitted in the isolation ward of Kapurthala for the last 16 days, was discharged today after his second corona test report came negative. His first test report came out negative on April 18. On the occasion of Afzal’s recovery, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jasmeet Bawa and other medical and paramedical staff were specially present. Afzal spoke to the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon on the occasion Wishing her a bright future, and congratulating her. Meanwhile, Afzal Sheikh appeared to be very excited. A cake was also presented to him by the higher authorities on the occasion. He said that he would make people aware of the disease so that they can prevent it. Afzal will be kept in solitary confinement at Sainik Rest House for 14 days.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal and Civil Surgeon Dr. Jasmeet Bawa also spoke to Nitu Chauhan, another patient admitted to the isolation ward, on the phone and reassured her that she too, like Afzal, would return home soon. It is pertinent to mention that both the patients have been taken special care by the health department and both have expressed satisfaction. Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramesh Kumari Banga, District Immunization Officer Dr. Asha Mangat, Dr. Sandeep Bhavan, Dr. Mohanpreet Singh, Dr. Rajiv Bhagat, Dr. Harpreet Momi, Dr. Besides Paritosh Garg, the medical and para-medical staff posted at the isolation ward were present.
