Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit said that 500 residents of Jammu and Kashmir and 145 residents of Rajasthan have been repatriated from the district by buses. They were dispatched from Samana and Patra today and earlier the buses were sanitized and their medical screening certificates were issued. Before leaving, they were also provided with food packets and water.
The Deputy Commissioner said that coordination was being made with the rest of the concerned states so that the residents of other states could be sent to their ancestral states as per their wishes. He said that Nodal Officers have been posted for all the sub divisions of the district and they were headed by Additional Commissioner Excise and Taxation Mr. Shaukat Ahmed Pare.
Mr. Kumar Amit said that there are 4 entry points in Patiala district for admission in Punjab, from where 12000 people have come to Punjab in last 4 days and 3000 of them belong to Patiala district who have been given their own homes or government seclusion. The centers have been quarantined.
He further said that helpline was started for the convenience of such persons living in Patiala district whose phone numbers are 0175-2355800 for Patiala and Dudhan Sadhs, 0175-5191263, 0175-2358560 for Samana and Patran, 0175-2353523 for Nabha. 0175-2311315 were issued for Rajpura.
