Patiala (Arvinder Joshan) World Environment Day was celebrated by the Department of Youth Services and Nehru Youth Center Patiala in association with Patiala Social Welfare Society at the local Youth Hostel Patiala today. A forest festival was celebrated on the occasion by planting fruit trees. Dr. Mr. Malkiat Singh Mann, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Patiala said that since the lock down of Kovid-19, NSS has been operating in District Patiala till date. Volunteers carry out activities by Youth Services Club and Nehru Youth Center. They are contributing in large numbers through emergency blood donation, deploying volunteers to help the administration, raising awareness through coronation efforts, distribution of dry rations to the needy, health app and eyegate training. As part of the drive, fruit trees like Chiku, Awla, Peach, Guava and ornamental plants were planted today with the help of Patiala Social Welfare Society.

On this occasion, Dr. Vijay Kumar Goyal, President of the Society addressed the gathering.
