Chandigarh (Media Bureau) The Punjab government will run buses for migrant laborers who want to go to their homes in Uttar Pradesh. Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Virendra Kumar Sharma said on Sunday that the buses will run from Jalandhar and will remain free. The buses will take migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh to Gautam Budh Nagar, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Bulandshahar, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Saharanpur, Mathura and Hapur. Corporation’s Additional Commissioner Babita Kaler and Assistant Commissioner Randeep Singh Gill are preparing to send buses in coordination with the District Magistrates of 10 districts.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday seeking permission to run 1,000 buses to take the migrants safely to their homes.
