Chandigarh (Media Bureau) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today congratulated the ITI students of the state for making 10 lakh masks. Disclosing this here today Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channy said that Punjab ITI The students have so far achieved the target of making 10 lakh masks and by making such a large number of masks, these students have topped all the ITIs in the country. He said that students of Haryana ITI who made only 3 lakh masks were in second place.
The Technical Education Minister said that all the officers, principals and instructors have encouraged our ITI students to make masks at home to play their part in the fight against Kovid-19. He said that this exemplary work has been done by 78 government ITIs of the state. About 4,500 female students studying April Trade in India have done so. He said that the masks were sewn by the students as a service. Channy further said that the principals and staff of these ITIs donated the raw material to the students’ homes and then collected masks from their homes to maintain self-distance. Mr. Anurag Verma, Principal Secretary, Technical Education said that the best thing was that the NGOs of local government, the chairman of IMC and the industrialists collected the raw material through donations. He further said that the masks have been distributed free of cost to the local administration, health workers, municipal corporations, Kovid warriors and needy persons like Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, farmers, migrant workers.
