Amritsar Sahib (Media Bureau) Giani Harpreet Singh, Executive Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib has expressed concern over the positive cases of Corona virus among the pilgrims returning to Punjab from Nanded. He said that I had spoken at Nanded Sahib and he had said that the report of all the pilgrims was negative but it was a matter of concern that the pilgrims coming here were positive.
At the same time, acting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh questioned the testing machine, saying that many people who work outside the state have also come here, yet why the question of positivity is being raised against the devotees. He said on social media that bringing corona from Hazur Sahib would not be tolerated at all. Giani Harpreet Singh said that there are only two positive cases out of which one has recovered and gone home and one is a truck driver but it is beyond comprehension how they became positive.
He said that Sikh pilgrims were inside Gurdwara Sahib but two cases have come in that city, they also belong to the city. These pilgrims have been in the practice for a quarter of a month, yet their positive report raises suspicions. Giani Harpreet Singh thanked the Punjab government for the return of the pilgrims and also protested that the testing system was not followed properly. He said that Punjab government should try to accommodate the returning pilgrims in the shrines. When Capt Amarinder Singh was given credit for the return of the pilgrims, he said, “I don’t know if he is right or wrong but as the pilgrims were sent straight home first.” Then the test was called back and the corona came back positive. The whole process is somewhere in doubt. Somewhere the Punjab government has been negligent.
