Guru Nanak Dev University ranked 51st in the country

Amritsar (Media Bureau) In the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020 released by Union Minister for Human Resources and Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank from New Delhi on Thursday, Guru Nanak Dev University has secured 51st position among central, government and private universities across the country. Last year was the 59th. While accepting congratulations from the heads of various departments and senior officers of the university on the prestigious achievements of the university, Prof. Mr. Sandhu said that National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranks all the higher education institutions of the country every year by evaluating them on the basis of criteria such as teaching, teaching resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes and the impact of the institutions. He said that he has achieved a high standard by improving the previous figures on three out of the five major criteria including research, professional practice, graduation outcome and public perception. He said that today when Guru Nanak Dev University came in 51st position in the ranking list released by the Union Minister of the country and at the same time this university has come in 18th position among the universities funded by the state government. It may be mentioned here that in the recent ranking given by the Nature Index, the university has been placed among the top 10 universities in the country, which is making a good impression at the national and international level. He said that the credit for all these achievements goes to the teachers, research students, students and administrative staff.
