Amritsar Sahib (Media Bureau) Giani Harpreet Singh, Executive Jathedar Singh Sahib of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib said that the government has closed temples, mosques and gurdwaras due to corona virus and opened liquor contracts and ordered liquor from religious places at home. The Jathedar said that alcohol spoils the psyche of the people and also increases domestic violence, for which it is not appropriate to open liquor contracts.
He said that the faith of the sangat was maintained at the religious places where the government had banned the sangat from visiting and exemption was being given to bad habits like alcohol. At the same time, he said that if Amritsar was not connected with the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway project, it would be a blow to the Sikhs which would not be tolerated.
The Jathedar said that the sangats returning from Nanded Sahib who are undergoing treatment due to corona virus have been directed by the Shiromani Akali Dal to provide the necessary supplies to the sangats for the convenience of the sangats. The Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh should pay special attention to the reports of mistreatment of Corona victims.
