Rajpura/Patiala (Arvinder Joshan) Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, inspected the situation in view of the recent positive cases received by Covd-19 at Rajpura. S. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mrs. Poonamdeep Kaur, Civil Surgeon Dr. Accompanied by Harish Malhotra, he visited Rajpura and met SDM. Mr. T Bennith, D.S.P. Rajpura Mr. Akashdeep Singh Aulakh and DSP Ghanour met Manpreet Singh and worked out a strategy.
During the meeting, Mr. Kumar Amit asked the Civil Surgeon to screen every resident of Rajpura for coronavirus symptoms in the next three days as per the ‘Diseased Area Policy’ and during this time Rajpura would be completely sealed and there would be no relaxation in curfew Will be given. He said that the chain of contacts of positive cases would be closely scrutinized so that those who have tested positive in the past would be traced and quarantined and people with corona symptoms would be isolated. Could The Deputy Commissioner said that the diseased areas in Rajpura would be identified and completely sealed.
The Deputy Commissioner directed Mr. Ravneet Singh Khat, Acting Officer of the Municipal Council, to ensure that the supply of essential commodities such as milk, vegetables, fruits, groceries and medicines etc. was to be ensured for the convenience of the citizens. The District Magistrate also issued orders that all the banks falling under Rajpura sub division would be kept closed for public transactions till further orders but the procurement of wheat at the grain mandi would continue uninterrupted.
Meanwhile, the SSP S. Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that strict action would be taken against the common people and especially the residents of Rajpura by staying in their homes and following the curfew and violating it. On this occasion, District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Jatinder Kansal, Tehsildar Harsimran Singh, Acting Officer Ravneet Singh Dhot and other officials were also present.
