New Delhi (Media Bureau) Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani’s troubles could escalate. In fact, a British court has asked Anil Ambani to pay 71.7 million to three Chinese banks within 21 days. These banks have to recover the money from Ambani under a loan agreement.Justice Nigel Tierre of the England and Wales High Court in London, hearing the proceedings in the wake of the Kovid-19 epidemic, said Ambani must abide by the personal guarantee he finds controversial.Announcing this, he said that in such a case, Ambani would have to pay 71,69,17,681.51 as a guarantee to the banks. On the other hand, a spokesperson for Anil Ambani said that the matter was related to the personal guarantee given by Reliance Communications on the loan taken in 2012 for annual refinancing.

The spokesperson clarified that this was not Ambani’s personal debt. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has allegedly made the claim on the basis of a guarantee that Ambani never signed.
He said that as far as the decision of the British court was concerned, Ambani was seeking legal advice after which he would take further action.
