Patiala (Arvinder Joshan) Deputy Commissioner Patiala Mr. Kumar Amit today visited Mata Sri Nanaki Ji Saran of Gurdwara Sri Dukh Niwaran Sahib, where the pilgrims brought back from Maharashtra by the Punjab Government are staying at a secluded facility. Reviewed the arrangements made for langar. Accompanying him on the occasion were Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Poonamdeep Kaur, SDM Mr. Charanjit Singh, DSP Mr. Sourav Jindal, Tehsildar Ranjit Singh and GM Mr. Verka Gurmail Singh was also present.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kumar Amit apprised the Manager of Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib Mr. Karnail Singh Nabha, Deputy Manager He called on Karam Singh and Head Granthi Giani Pranam Singh and thanked the Gurdwara management for the arrangements made for the accommodation of the devotees. On this occasion the Deputy Commissioner also sent lassi ordered by the district administration from Verka to the pilgrims and a member of the team of doctors deployed on the spot Dr. Yuvraj, Dr. Nidhi Sharma Ahluwalia and Dr. He also got information from Kiranjot Kaur about the health of the devotees.
The Deputy Commissioner said that out of the pilgrims brought by the Punjab government from Maharashtra, 21 of them who came from Patiala district as corona positive, all the pilgrims were in Chardikala and all of them would return to their homes in next 10-12 days. He said that no one should have any doubt about these devotees as tomorrow we too can be their place and they are all our own. Kumar Amit further said that there is no need to panic about Kovid-19 but by taking precaution we can control this disease. He said that all the pilgrims staying in the sanctum sanctorum were being made aware of the precautions to be taken by the teams of the health department.
Mr. Kumar Amit said that for the health check up of the pilgrims staying at Gurdwara Sahib by the district administration, a team of doctors from the health department, security from the police and cleanliness and sanitation arrangements have been made by the municipal corporation. He said that a sector magistrate would also be posted here. . He said that the area where these pilgrims were staying would be sanitized daily by the team of Municipal Corporation Patiala and the porch of the temple would be cleaned daily by the Municipal Corporation.
Manager of Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib S. Karnail Singh informed the Deputy Commissioner that all these pilgrims were being provided food, tea, milk and fruits three times a day.
