Chandigarh (Media Bureau) Amidst the coronavirus crisis, trains will run on 15 selected routes from today as per a decision taken by the Railway Ministry. Online booking for the trip will start from 4 pm today on the IRCTC website. The Railways has also issued several guidelines for travel by rail. The passenger has to reach the station one hour before the journey. Railways has said that blankets and towels will no longer be available in such coaches. All passenger train services have been suspended since March 25 due to the nationwide lockout. The ticket booking window will be closed at railway stations, no counter ticket including platform ticket will be issued. Passengers who reserve seats in these trains have to reach the railway station at least one hour before the departure time. These special trains will run from New Delhi Railway Station to Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu-Tawi. Passengers will be required to wear a mask and health check-up at the point of departure, only those who show no signs of infection will be allowed to board the train.The temperature will be kept slightly higher than usual and maximum supply of fresh air inside the compartments will be ensured.
