Chandigarh (Media Bureau) Punjab Student Union President Ranbir Singh Randhawa and Vice President Hardeep Kaur Kotla have chosen each other as their companions. Ranbir was born in Kurar village of Barnala district and is presently a resident of Nurpur Bedi in Rupnagar district and Hardeep Kaur hails from Kotla village in Moga district. Ranbir passed his MA in Punjabi from Rupnagar College and is now pursuing his MA in Political Science.
In fact, the couple, who have been an inspiration to the society and the youth, have been playing a leading role in the struggles of students and youth for the last many years, influenced by the lives and struggles of patriots and Ghadr leaders. Hardeep Kaur has a double MA and is preparing for her third master’s degree. The struggle of the Ghadarites had a profound effect on her mind, perhaps which is why she chose not to live with her entire family in Canada but to make a living here. Both became active as students and reached the top positions of the organization.
Ranbir said they worked together for the union but never thought about marriage. Other members of the party suggested marriage a year ago and then the exchange of ideas became a way to live together. Ranbir said that the two got married not because of the Corona crisis but because of their own will. Some other party leaders attended as guests and both spent only Rs 320 on laddu and two necklaces.
